Linking across networks

Developing Knowledge Network is one of the prime activities of BFES initiatives.

BFES is closely working with Global Knowledge Partnership (GKP) as its first member from Bangladesh and served as Focal Point for South Asia (2001-2004), and initiated a Regional Knowledge Network (South Network) among the NGOs and CSOs of the region.

BFES also served as Member Secretary for the Bangladesh National Working Committee on WSIS, which is established, and headed by the Government.

BFES has adopted knowledge networking-with a focus on communities of practice and communities of interest as one of the core thrusts, which will underpin its various programme areas, to help assert information and communication rights of citizens and communities in the Bangladesh.

It is also part of a number of international initiatives related to Knowledge Networking and ICT for Development (ICT4D).
